Royal Copenhagen – the colonial coffee service, produced in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of U.S. Independence on July 4, 1976. Features handcrafted mahogany case with loose bottom. Interior lined with light green silk and trim. Porcelain is painted in anthracite Gray and plated with 24 CT gold. The motifs are silhouettes of the nine leading figures of the U.S. associated with the declaration of independence in 1775. Set is produced in an edition of 300. The first set was given to the president of the United States.
Description
A Royal Copenhagen coffee service from the colonial period, Denmark, American presidents consist of:
- Serving platter, length 37.5 cm.
- 4 cups with saucers, saucer diameter 12 cm.
- 1 pitcher with lid, total height 18 cm.
- 1 sugar bowl with lid, 9 cm.
- 1 creamer/milk jug, height 9.5 cm.
All in gorgeous mahogany chest. Box with stand, h. 66. M. 42. D. 32 cm.
The set is unused and shows no signs of wear. The mahogany table and wooden box have slight signs of use and patina inside.
